'The Master Cat or Puss in Boots' is an unusual tale. It is a fairy tale about a cat who uses trickery and deceit to gain power, wealth and the hand of a princess in marriage for his penniless and low-born master! The oldest written record of the story is Italian and was penned by Giovanni Francesco Straparola in 1550-1553.
