Kokedama Plants

Instructor: Kate Mulcahy

Kokedama is the Japanese craft of transplanting potted plants into beautiful moss spheres. Kokedama are a great alternative to their more complex and needy relative the bonsai. They encapsulate the traditional Japanese aesthetics of form, simplicity and beauty. They are booming in popularity because not only are they easy to care for but they can be displayed in so many unique ways around the home.

Whether you choose to hang them from a string or, like their more traditional beginnings, display them on a plate or shelf, they are easy to create and make fantastic gifts.

There are many variations on how best to create a kokedama. In this hands-on class we will teach you a beginner's technique so it's suitable for absolutely everyone - not only those with green fingers. We provide all the materials you need to create your very own kokedama including a safe package to transport it home.

Must be over age 16 to attend. We recognise that sometimes life happens and plans change. Although we are unable to offer a refund on booked workshops from 14 days before the workshop start date, you are welcome to pass your workshop slot on to someone else.  We are unable to transfer you to an alternate course option.
